Each Aspen/Snowmass ski area has its own unique qualities and features...

Snowmass Ski Area

Stonebridge Condominiums offers ski-in ski-out Snowmass Village condo rentals directly on the slopes at Snowmass. Snowmass Ski Area is the largest of the four mountains and is known to be a great family mountain with a wide variety of terrain. From steep chutes to a world-class beginner area and the Treehouse Kids' Adventure Center, and everything in between, Snowmass has it all. This giant mountain has 3,132 acres and 4,406 vertical feet along with 91 trails and 21 lifts including the new Elk Camp Gondola. You will find perfectly groomed cruisers, fantastic tree skiing, bumps, multiple terrain parks and halfpipes, and a wide array of steeps and hike-to terrain that will keep even the most advanced riders happy. Snowmass has several on-mountain restaurants to refuel at after a long morning on the snow. Try barbeque at Sam’s Smokehouse, diner-style fare at the Ullrhof, pizza and fresh cookies at Up 4 Pizza, and a wide range of lunch options at Gwyn’s High Alpine restaurant. The soon to be remodeled (will be finished in the 2012/13 season) Cafe Suzanne offers casual French lunch cuisine, and there is also dining at the Two Creeks Cafe, the Lynn Britt Cabin, and the Burlingame Cabin. Snowmass Ski Area recently completed a world-class Base Village area which includes several restaurants, bars, rental shops, and shops.

Aspen Mountain

Aspen Mountain may be known for the glitz and glam of celebrities and the impressive Sundeck mountaintop restaurant, but when it comes down to it, Aspen is full of passionate skiers and snowboarders who love to ski its black-diamond terrain. In operation since 1947, Aspen Mountain contains 675 acres, 76 trails, and 8 lifts including a gondola on a steep, rugged mountain with the beautiful town of Aspen as its backdrop. Skiers and snowboarders will find a variety of terrain including intermediate cruisers, gladed runs, steep trees, and the famous Aspen Winternational World Cup Run, “Ruthies.” People can enjoy food with a world-class view at the Sundeck restaurant, as well as a laid-back dining experience at Bonnies, and high-end food at the base at Ajax Tavern. Aspen Mountain is just 20 minutes from Stonebridge Condominiums at Snowmass.

Aspen Highlands

Aspen Highlands has been a long-time locals’ favorite mountain, and there are plenty of reasons why. With 1,028 acres, 118 runs, and 5 lifts, Aspen Highlands has something for everyone. For those looking for a challenge, a hike up to the 12,392 summit of Highland Bowl and the ultimate run down is not to be missed. Highlands offers a variety of steep expert terrain as well as groomed cruisers and stunning views of Pyramid Peak and the Maroon Bells. Aspen Highlands’ mid-mountain restaurant, the Merry Go Round, just received a beautiful remodel in 2011, and Cloud Nine Bistro at the top of the Cloud Nine Lift offers an intimate upscale bistro setting with unbelievable views. A lovely base area offers several dining options, as well as boutiques, galleries, and a ticket office/welcome center. Highlands is unique and quirky and worth a visit on your next Snowmass ski vacation.

Buttermilk

Buttermilk was known for nearly 50 years as being a gentle cruiser mountain, perfect for beginners and families. But over the last decade, Buttermilk has gained a second personality as the home to the ESPN Winter XGames. Buttermilk features 470 acres, 44 trails, and two incredible terrain parks. It is the perfect mountain for a leisurely day on the snow, but you can also find great powder stashes a few days after a storm, as well as hone your halfpipe and jumping skills in the world-renowned ski and snowboard parks. The Cliffhouse restaurant provides stunning Elk Mountain Views, and Bumps at the base area refuels hungry skiers and snowboarders as well. Buttermilk is located in between Snowmass and Aspen.
